The data for September 2025 shows Nemesis heading towards the ecliptic, statistically confirming the Nemesis plunge trend.
The trend data show that Nemesis, which is in its aphelion leg, is slowly closing the distance between it and Earth. This forecloses any notion that this trend could possibly reverse anytime soon. It will not, and the Nemesis Cloud is also closing with Earth.
These factors are further corroborated in our recent article, Nemesis Unfurls Its Wings. The images in that article are sourced from our Telegram Observations research channel.
In the coming months, we will be looking for specific observations showing Nemesis partially eclipsing our Sun. This will signal that by sometime in 2026, Nemesis will become the largest object in our sky, and it will be omnipresent. Now let’s get into the numbers.
September 2025 Fireballs
Fireballs are reported worldwide, and the American Meteor Society is the primary source for this dataset in North America.
AMS Multistate / Country Fireballs
Multistate/country fireballs cross the borders of multiple states and countries. This is a critical category in the dataset because these fireballs must travel a great distance to receive reports from across large geographic areas. We refer to these types of fireballs as “skimmers” because they exhibit flat trajectories.
September 2025 shows a significant uptick, tying for first place with 2023 for this month. This is a very significant level of activity for skimmers.
AMS Huge Event Fireballs
It’s commonplace for Multistate / Country Fireballs to be reported as huge events because a huge event occurs when 100 or more eyewitness observers report it. We call them “plungers” because they have a steep trajectory.
September 2025 comes in as last place for this dataset period. The question is, will the number of smaller fireballs follow the same trend?
AMS Monthly Total Fireballs
The monthly total fireballs are the most critical category in this dataset, and August 2025 showed an uptick, bringing it significantly ahead of the previous two years.
September 2025 shows a significant uptick, placing this dataset in first place for the month. It will be interesting to see the numbers for October 2025 when they become available.
Yearly AMS Fireball Totals
We are over halfway through the year, and August 2025 has surpassed the previous month, raising a question. What will this data subset look like next January?
2025 has significantly edged out 2018 by a considerable margin as Nemesis plunges downward. This raises a question. Will the fourth quarter of 2025 surpass those of 2023 and 2024? Perhaps we could see the answer to that question by the end of November.
USGS vs. VOLCANO DISCOVERY 2025 YTD
Volcano Discovery is a recognized news portal for earthquake and volcano updates. Volcano Discovery is an adventure tour operator that conducts geotours and volcano tours worldwide, in collaboration with trusted partners. We report data from the USGS and Volcano Discovery, enabling you to view the suppression of data that our government has been conducting for several years.
According to Volcano Discovery data, the September 2025 reading dropped significantly below the August 2025 reading.
In September 2025, there were 54,770 earthquakes of all magnitudes, with 12 of magnitude 6 and above..
