The data for October 2025 not only statistically confirms the Nemesis plunge trend, but it also shows that Nemesis is closing the distance with Earth.
In our previous installment of Signs, we said, “Will the fourth quarter of 2025 surpass those of 2023 and 2024? Perhaps we could see the answer to that question by the end of November.”
What you will see in the data for October 2025 is that we will not have to wait for the end of November. Simply put, we’ve crossed a statistical threshold.
It prompts us to consider a question we received in the comments on our X channel. It was, “When will I see it?” Our answer was short. “2026.” Given that things are moving ahead more quickly than we expected, we’re confident that Nemesis will become the largest object in our sky in 2026, and it will be omnipresent. Now let’s get into the numbers.
October 2025 Fireballs
Fireballs are reported worldwide, and the American Meteor Society is the primary source for this dataset in North America.
AMS Multistate / Country Fireballs
Multistate/country fireballs cross the borders of multiple states and countries. This is a critical category in the dataset because these fireballs must travel a great distance to receive reports from across large geographic areas. We refer to these types of fireballs as “skimmers” because they exhibit flat trajectories.
October 2025 shows a significant uptick, placing it in first place for this dataset for the month. This is a very significant level of activity for skimmers.
AMS Huge Event Fireballs
It’s commonplace for Multistate / Country Fireballs to be reported as huge events because a huge event occurs when 100 or more eyewitness observers report it. We call them “plungers” because they have a steep trajectory.
October 2025 ties for first place for 2021 and 2022 for this dataset period. What is important to note is that Nemesis was on its perihelion leg during 2021 and 2022. Now, it’s on its aphelion leg and we wonder if November will equal or top 2022.
AMS Monthly Total Fireballs
The monthly total fireballs are the most critical category in this dataset, and October 2025 showed an uptick, bringing it significantly ahead of the previous two years.
October 2025 shows a significant uptick over 2023 and 2024, placing this dataset in first place for the month. It will be interesting to see the numbers for November 2025 when they become available.
Yearly AMS Fireball Totals
We are ten months into the year, and October 2025 has surpassed 2023 and 2024, raising a question. What will this data subset look like next January, and will it beat the previous two years?
With two months to go, it appears that 2025 will surpass 2023 and 2024 by year’s end. We’ll have a better idea once the November comes in.
USGS vs. VOLCANO DISCOVERY 2025 YTD
Volcano Discovery is a recognized news portal for earthquake and volcano updates. Volcano Discovery is an adventure tour operator that conducts geotours and volcano tours worldwide, in collaboration with trusted partners. We report data from the USGS and Volcano Discovery, enabling you to view the suppression of data that our government has been conducting for several years.

According to Volcano Discovery data, the October 2025 reading surged significantly ahead of the September 2025 reading. Conversely, USGS, with its data capping strategy, went in the opposite direction.
In October 2025, there were 59,153 earthquakes of all magnitudes, with 2 of magnitude 7 and above..
