Age is a wonderful thing. It gives knowledge, experiences, and wisdom in varying measures. It also makes the old seem younger and the young seem younger. But those young people have their own unique perspective on life and happily many are ready to question both life and its direction and effects on them as adults, starting life’s big journey.Â
I was very pleased to be able to sit down at Sounds Beautiful and talk with Anika, a young lady who had already found her life challenged by Covid lockdowns and its suppressive, depressive effects on society. For Anika, she came to realise that she was alone amongst her contemporaries. She knew something was wrong, but they did not. She wanted to speak out. They wanted to stay on safe topics of the in-crowd, media stars, and music.
Not to be silenced, Anika started searching for other like-minded people, and quickly realised that her path led her to a largely older group, who could also see through politics and changes in society.
Anika is young, gutsy, and different. She deserves to be heard, and she is working to establish herself online.
