When you sign up for a Real ID, your biometric data isn’t stored by the government—it’s handed to Idemia, a private French company specializing in facial recognition, fingerprints, and digital identity systems.
And here’s the real issue:
Putting your personal data into a centralized database makes you more vulnerable to hacking, surveillance, and misuse. Once it’s in, you can’t take it back—and you don’t control where it goes next.
Before handing over your data, ask yourself:
Who benefits? And who’s really in control?
