Here’s how to tell if you’re thirsty

How do you know if you’re drinking enough water?

Contrary to popular wellness trends and generalized advice, your body already has a highly evolved system for regulating hydration: it’s called thirst.
The modern lifestyle has led you to ignore your thirst. Sitting at a computer, multi-tasking, binge watching, and social media keep you glued to your seat so you forget about your thirst. After weeks, months and years your body gives up and the thirst goes away.

The result? Chronic dehydration causing brain fog, headaches, hypertension, kidney damage, etc.

Some of you may recognize this problem and try to compensate by drinking gallons but with no satisfaction of thirst to tell them when is enough. You can become over-hydrated and even hyponatremic (blood sodium too low).
Learn to reestablish and trust your thirst and you’ll always drink the right amount for you!

Instead of outsourcing your hydration strategy, tune into physiological feedback: dry mouth, fatigue, headache, dizziness, or dark urine are reliable indicators.

Your body isn’t guessing—it’s signaling. The more you learn to listen, the more accurately you can meet your needs.

By tuning into your body, you empower yourself to become your own health authority.
